How to Manually Update Chromebooks

1.) Log into your Chromebook

2.) Open Settings: Click the time in the bottom-right corner to open the Quick Settings panel, then click the Settings gear icon.

3.) Navigate to About ChromeOS: In the Settings menu, look for "About ChromeOS" in the bottom-left panel and select it.

4.) Check for Updates: Under the "Google ChromeOS" section, click the Check for updates button.

5.) Download & Restart: If an update is available, it will start downloading automatically. Once complete, you'll see a "Restart to Update" option; click it to finish the

      installation. 

6.) After Reboot press Alt+V to see the version in the upper right hand corner. You may need to update more than once to get to the latest version of ChromeOS
